After seeing the great example of a 747-400 for ACES and Avianca, I was wondering if anyone would be willing to give us an example of a 747-400 for Aerocondor. At one time, in the 80s, it was Colombia's second international airline after Avianca and only had an A300 as its biggest aircraft in the fleet. What would they look like with a 747-400 competing with Avianca on the Bogota-Miami, Bogota-JFK routes.

Thank you very much RP Abraham for the Aerocondor jets. The 737 looks simply stunning in this adaptation. Additionally, the 747-400 is breath-taking because they always had rumors of purchasing a 747. The re-possesion and impounding of the A300 in Miami destroyed all those hopes.

Aerocondor was a excellent airline, had a first Airbus A300 in Latinoamerica, my father was pilot of Aerocondor, flew L-188, B720, B707, and my father was preparing course in Touluse France, to the second Airbus A300, when Aerocondor finalized operations for economic problems.
if there was competence to Miami with the A300, there would have been much more with the 747.

Yes, there was an enormous demand for air travel within Colombia and between Colombia and other countries in the 1980s. I remember flying on the Avianca 747s in the Miami-Bogota sector with every seat taken and the cargo section filled to the rim with consumer products, such as refrigerators, washers and dryers, tvs, vcrs, etc. Aerocondor would have made even more money with 747 service had they not mis-managed the company because demand was certainly there. Sorry to hear your dad was unable to complete his training. Hopefully he was able to locate another position as pilot with another company and keep flying.
