Can anyone comment on the fleet, service and route structure of Oceanic Airways? ![]() As early as 1965, Oceanic Airlines lost a plane in Flipper 2.07 The Ditching, ditching it south of Florida. The airline must have shut down for a while because it was refounded in 1974. Executive Decision - 1996: Flight 343, from Athens to Washington, on 747, skyjacked by Islamic terrorists.. Another Oceanic Flight 343 was skyjacked in 2000 by Koreans in JAG. Nowhere to Land - Flight 762, 747 SYD-LAX. Another Flight 767 got in trouble in Category 6: Day of Destruction, and diverted to ORD. Code 11-14: a 747SP was bound SYD-LAX on Flight 816. Diagnosis: Murder 04.23 in 1997 had a murder on a 747-200 Flight 456, en route from LAX to Switzerland In 1991, an Oceanic flight crashed in Brazilian rainforest with 2 survivors. And then there was the notorious Flight 815, which vanished in Lost... I ought to say that at least their business class service sucked. Check their seatmap! On 777, first class is 6 abreast, but business is 9 abreast like economy. Presumably with more legroom and pitch, but still rather poor standard for Business Class! In the immediate aftermath of Flight 815, Oceanic suspended all services. But some time later, when investigation to the disappearance led nowhere, Oceanic decided to restart. Are there any changes to fleet, livery or service since resumption of services? Did/does Oceanic have a frequent flyer program?
Oh i think that there are a heap of oceanic airlines' trip reports on a.net. gee whiz didn't know that they take their passengers to "places that you've never imagined" their prices are just too much man but i guess that's due to the financial crisis atm. oh well i reckon that they were a future candidate for a 5 star airline award. they will be missed... ![]() Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
