Well personally, I think that the ugliest plane made recently is probably the A380 - they could have adde more exits and made the nose just that little bit sharper u know what i mean. the 757 is also really weird. The nise is so low down and the fuselage is like a stick. butt ugly baby What do you think. For some reason, I really want Stefan to answer because he answers to all of my posts. btw stefan is St. Jevic. ![]() I like planes. How about you? Ashil Mistry.
here i go...well, i agree with you on the 757, especially the 757-300, the nose looks kind of weird not to mention that pencil like body and small engines... the A310 isnt ugly but just looks weird...short and chubby... the A300 beluga is disgusting!!! lol the ATR's are ugly...regtangle-like wings, props, pencil like body and a tail that i dont know how do describe... the A380 looks ok, but the nose it the part f***ing it up...looks like the A340 smashed into a wall and the impact flattened-out its nose...weird... i'll think of more! XD Rock the Casbah
Hey what about the Shorts 330/360? That is the box that the Beech 1900D came in! Although very ugly, it's one of my favorite commtuer "Props" because I used to watch those go in and out of my hometown airport growing up. There is a minivan driving aroud these days that are just as boxy and I call it a "road Shorts" LOL Anyway, I have met girls that used to work on those and they were awful to work. Super hot in the Summer, and deep freezing in the Winter. They were not pressurized. They had no yaw damper either. Even so this is a sweet little boxy bird!! The World's Favorite Flight Attendant!
"rebitt" the 747SP is a retarded 747-100... i also have to say that the A343, A342's arent that pretty, those hair-dryer-like engines are ugly and somehow the windows/doors look like they're too high or somethin like that XD Tupolevs are ugly the IL96/86 . . . . they look like retarded A300's with bigger doors and 747-like wings put on them... yep and the 757 really does look like what NAEEM SHAUKAT said about it...especially the 753...! Rock the Casbah
A380- Ugly but its art ![]() Shorts 360- A flying box, yet its cute.. 747-SP- The mini me of 747s... and the ugliest Beluga- It's insane but amazing! I love Beluga's both plane and whale ![]() 757-300- An anerexic aircraft 767- Fat but elegant. There are no such things as ugly aircraft, just funny ones, good ones, and ones that are physically challenged =P Thats my view of it... Am I the only one who likes the look of the 757? Inside and out, it's the perfect airplane. I like because it's different (and the takeoff's are pretty nice too). Let's see, I have some one's that I'm kind of iffy on, and other that I can't stand. I generally don't like stub planes. The ok ones at best: -737-700 -737-900 (Looks too much like a stick) -767-200 (Too stubby) -A300 -A318 (Too stubby) -A319 (see A318, but it's better) -A330-200 (Not bad, but still too short for my liking) -A340-600 (Too much of a stick as well) The terrible ones: -Concorde (and I thought I was the only one) -737-600 (Same old reason, stubby) -747-100 (Upper deck is too small) -747SP (You know the drill.) -A310 (The ultimate stub) -CRJ-900 (While generally liking longer aircraft, this as way too extreme) And finally, the ultimate in ugly: -A380 I thought the concept art looked rather good, but I see things didn't work out like that. OH guys!! The Metro looks like a toothpaste tube with propellers. I call it the "Texas tailpipe" cause I think it was built in San Antonio, Tx. I agree with Trevor. There are no "ugly" planes, just ones you would have to be high to get on!! Does anyone know why they call it a SAAB 340?-Because when passengers walk outside to get on, they start crying (Sob)!! I really like the IL 86, but are those 707 engines?? What other airliner needs 5 miles of runway?? Ummmm.... Forget Military planes. Many of you will get a chuckle when I tell you I built a 1/48 scale Herc C-130 and put airliner decals on it!! I think Delta actually had them at one point. I used to fly my Guinea Pigs around my house in it....of course this was a couple decades ago.....they racked up some mean frequent flyer points........ The Dash-8 Q400 and CRJ-900 does look strange....sorta DC-8-63ish...long skinny and you wonder how it doesn't strike it's tail everytime it takes-off.... ..... ![]() ...You guys crack me up too....I AM too posh to be an American...I think I'm British in spirit...I'm gonna go over there for a day or two and get me a UK fix!! ![]() Cheetajet.... HEy Those little dears were well treated!! They LOVED it. I wasn't rough with them at all. They "got on" on their own and I was gentle with the movements. It wasn't like I spin them around like in a centerfuge!! LOL....they got treats in there and when we "landed" we were outside and the were in their fenced off area to run around in.....so...I'm not a boy, so there wasn't any firecrackers or sudden drops enroute...or torture of anykind....no fire...no unplaned explosions...and I was like 11-12 years old. My Dad helped me build the big plane....and it was a HUGE model with giant propellers...

I only wish that when Delta converted ours to -71's (Delta did all their own except for the first one) that they would have installed an apu at the same time. Damn hard to air start those big engines! ******************************************* Old Widgets don't grow old, they just smell that way! ![]()
I'm not so sure why it's orange. I just thought it looked cool. Take a look at this and tell me what you think. [www.aikensairplanes.com]
Mostly air cargo. I spent a year in the Aleutian Islands and 2 1/2 years at Travis AFB, rigging practice airdrop loads, loading them on C-141's and recovering the loads and chutes off of the drop zone. This was from 68-71. I got out in '71 and 7 years later, in '78, I went back in the Air Force Reserve, doing the same thing, only with C-130's at ORD. Then, when I moved to SHV with Delta, I transferred to the Reserve unit at Barksdale AFB. The were in the process of transitioning from A-37's to A-10's. ******************************************* Old Widgets don't grow old, they just smell that way! ![]()
