Heathrow Crash!

There was a crash today (thurs 17 jan 2008) on heathrow, just landing short on the grass of runway 27L!!! It was a boeing 777, british airways from beijing! This is not a photo request or anything. Any comments?  I like planes. How about you? Ashil Mistry.

Hi all im back...when i saw that pic on a.net it just turned my day around(at least the rest of it because i saw it at 11pm lol), the reason: because if it gets written-off it will be the first hull loss of a 777...but everybody survived...nice...very nice...if i understood correctly the engines ceased 4km from LHR on an altitude of 180m then it continued to the airport crossing (cant remember name) highway with 6m of clearance directly above the pm's car...and it landed short of the runway 600m IIRC and as soon as it touched the ground the gear sheared off ... shite ... looks like the left wing is seriously stuffed up judging by the pics but i wouldnt call it a wo although i've read that it probably will be wo...well since 1995(or something like that) this is the first "crash" envolving the 777... Many people on A.net believe that this aircraft will be w/o and parted out, as repairing the 777 would be much too costly... Jason :-D sapphire- Go ahead, the sky is waiting.
Shame this 777 might meet the scrap yard soon. Good thing nobody died!  Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
