They haven't said a huge amount about it here in the States (or at least in Georgia, anyway). I'm sure the local news at noon will tell all about it, but other than that, CBS interrupted the Price is Right for a speech from President Bush. That was the first of it I've seen. ![]() Patrick Admin Proud Member Since 2003
Basically there was a plot to detonate "liquid" high explosives on as many as 10 flights from the UK to the US. Airlines targetted are reportedly American Airlines, United Airlines, and Continental Airlines. Several flights have been cancelled by a number of airlines at UK airports, Heathrow is probably the one that's screwed up the most, as of now at least. All passengers flying from the UK are now not permitted to have any carry-on luggage. Items that you must have on board with you have to be carried in a clear plastic bag and you cannot have anything in your pockets. Everything else has to be checked in to the cargo hold. No passengers travelling from the UK or to the UK from the US/Canada are permitted to have fluids with them when they board (exceptions include baby bottles, etc.). Check UK transport authority and US Department of Homeland Security for more information. - Nick
there should be a wikipedia article on it. SHould be on the front page when you click english on the main language portal. Most of the major airports in europe and North America are basically screwed. Especially since it's the summer peak season. This might be the first time I'm glad we didn't fly anywhere this summer and stuck with driving
