IMPORTANT: Cathay Pacific and Dragon Air

Hi everyone,

I'm sorry to say that Cathay Pacific and Hong Kong DragonAir do not appreciate their names being used on our site. My personal view is that being seen here is a token of appreciation.

We will no longer be able to show images including their logo or registered names.

Their images will be taken offline during the day.

Regards,
Henrik

This is so sad! like seriously!

We're just a bunch of people having fun. If i was running an airline I'd love to see people so enthusiastic about my airline! Its even a great form of advertising!

I'd like to see them to tell airliners.net to stop posting photos of them! You might as well shut down the whole site and rename it to "Fictional-Designs.net" if all airlines follow Cathay

Seriously henrik, can we see the statement?

That is very unfortunate! I quite like CX's paint scheme and I did a picture of a B738 with it. I too believe that designers on here choosing to do a work with CX's paint scheme is a sign of a fan base, and not anything negative. I was not even aware that airlines visited this site to look at the works of their planes on here.

Hi,

I actually guess it's another company that gets paid to monitor the web/market and handle possible registered trademark intrusions. It's probably not the company employees themselves that found this disturbing. Or at least I can't imagine that.

In the correspondence we've had I also included a few questions regarding explicit permission for non-commercial usage. I don't expect a reply on that really, but I just can't leave it without trying. With some (quite a lot) luck we might find a middle way.

Regards,
Henrik
