On the other hand, what about people that use photo templates without permission on A-D.net. I mean if it is really obvious that a certain team may really not have taken that many photos or a certain aircraft manufacturer really likes to edit a certain airline, what then...?

I was also guilty of this problem when I just started, that's why I started making my own templates and asked for certain of my entries to be removed.

So far PIA A320 and Saudi Arabian A380 have been uploaded by same person. These very photos are also uploaded at aviation-design but in large format.

I'm sorry to say that Cathay Pacific and Hong Kong DragonAir do not appreciate their names being used on our site. My personal view is that being seen here is a token of appreciation.

We will no longer be able to show images including their logo or registered names.

Their images will be taken offline during the day.

I thought that we were only allowed to upload submissions of one airline, one aircraft. Does this rule still apply? I had my fleet submissions rejected once. I also had an alliance/airline same aircraft rejected too. What's the deal with it?

I know pics are converted to JPEG here before being added to database, but how come some come out great and others dont? when all have been saved in PNG. The change I have noticed mostly happens whes one alters colours using MS paint on real photos.

Tailfins- And only tailfin's
Rear Fuselages- some liveries have tail fins that scoop down into the fuselage, from the wing to the back
Front Fuselages- From the wing up to the cockpit
Complete Fuselage- From the cockpit to the tail
Winglets- No explanation needed
Engines- Yep, some engines can be quite good looking
Finer Detail Stickers- Parts that appear on the livery that are rather small, like "visit this country" stickers...

Okay, I'll start:
Tailfins:
South African Airways- You cannot beat this!
Egyptair- A huge improvement over their previous one, the gradient effect is pretty neat
Delta- I won't, Delta's tailfin has really grown onto me, it looks quite classy actually!
Singapore Airlines- The enlarged logo looks much better and the golden line at the back adds to the airline's professionalism
"New" Varig- The bright colours really did the trick for this troubled airline...
Air France- The Tail on itself doesn't look too bad!

Last week-end a thunderstorm took our several servers. Due to the time it would take to get it back on-line we decided to upgrade hardware and software as well.

The site is back on-line with no lost data, faster hardware and the latest generation of software. I bet some of you got worried there ;)

Some functionality might still be untested. We'll try to wipe all the bugs out the coming days. Please report problems either in the forum or contact form.

Background:
Well, let's start some challenges, see how inspired and creative you all feel:

Objective:
Create a livery containing the following shape. The colour may be changed, the size as well. Even the basic shape can be modified slightly but the basic shape must appear somewhere on the livery, either fuselage, tail, winglet, engine etc.


Airline:
Any airline, both real and fictional

Aircraft:
Any REAL aircraft

Modification:
Photo or drawing

Deadline:
Next week Friday 9PM

Since it's expected Monday that United and Continental will announce a merger, how about we do a livery contest incorporating at least one element from each livery? Aircraft choice doesn't matter, and photo vs template doesn't matter, just make it good! How about a deadline of next Friday at 9:00 PM Eastern (GMT -5)? We'll post the entries in this thread and once it's all done, set up an online poll and run it through the weekend.
