If I were to one day donate some money towards the website, what exactly would happen with the website. Anymore additional upgrades, how does this site make money in the first place. I am curious. -Nicholas ![]() ![]() Re: Donations?

Hi,
We just get enough to keep the site up and running. No space to invest in new hot hardware, but it's not needed really. I've been pretty busy the last year, but I do have some projects that are so close to finished that I'm soon (hopefully) ready to launch. Regards, Henrik Re: Donations?

Hi,
MyAviation.net has been sold as well. CarDatabase.net however is granted an eternal license to be kept up and running. =) /h Re: Donations?

so MyAviation is no longer a website? and it'll just be Airliners.net and Cardatabase.net
Question is does Cardatabase.net get the same sort of upgrades that Airliners.net will be getting? -Nicholas ![]() ![]() Re: Donations?

Hi,
Airliners.net and MyAviation.net are now hosted in the US. CarDatabase.net is in no way connected to MyAviation.net or Airliners.net other than that we still have a license for the parts of the site code and design that originally came from Airliners.net. To summarize things short - there are a lot of plans for CarDatabase.net. It still has a place on the internet as a bigger site than it currently is, and I'm going to try to get it growing faster during 2008. I hope you will all help with uploading photos etc. We might also extend our crew. The running costs of CarDatabase.net is currently financed with ads. Donations from Airliners.net in the past has provided us with hardware (disks and servers) enough to be able to grow pretty much. The running costs are bandwidth, electricity, cooling etc. When it comes to donations it would be interesting if it would be enough to employ a full-time developer. I doubt that this will happen though, so due to the costs of smaller donations (transfer fees, currency exchange, taxes etc. etc.) I suggest that you use the money to buy better camera equipment for example. Regards, Henrik Re: Donations?
